"It wasn't easy the entire game, then we finally opened it up the last three or four minutes. But give Ohio State credit. They played very, very well. They seemed to get every loose ball. The outrebounded us. We can't have that kind of thing happen with Lester and Eric in the game. They have that size. They have that ability. They have the potential. They've got to play.

"I got upset with them and played five little guys, and that helped us defensively. Then I think Lester and Eric were a little better when we came back with them.

"Billy Thomas was sensational. It may have been his best al-around game he's ever played, because he was really good on the defensive end of the floor also.

"Nick gave us some good play. C.B. came in and gave us a big lift. And then Paul in the last three or four minutes was big-time. He was two for eleven at halftime, and with one of your All-Americans out, the other guy's got to be able to step up and play, and he didn't do that the first half. But the second half he really did.

"We've got to get more balanced scoring. We can't have it just be Billy and Paul. But I wanted to get through this one and see what happened.

"We only have two post players left. T.J. and Raef were our two starting post players at the start of the season. Both of them are out, and that leaves Eric and Lester. We don't want them to get in foul trouble, but they've got to play. They can't walk around out there and not rebound the ball. Lester had zero defensive rebounds at half, and Eric only had two rebounds total. If we're going to play those guys, they've got to do what they're out there for, and that's rebound the basketball.

"We went with five little guys for a couple of stretches, and every time it was very effective for us because we were more active defensively.

"(Next game vs Vanderbilt) will be a different kind of game to the extent that it will be a very physical game. We've got to be able to stand the physical part of it and see if our speed will maybe be a factor for us."
