Roy Williams - "I told the kids if you can't have fun playing in that game, there's something wrong with you. Again, I think it goes back to what we talked about the last game. We'd played Nebraska here, and we weren't into it emotionally. I think the make-up of what you're getting ready to do and how you state yourself mentally is extremely important. I think we were really into it Wednesday night against Oklahoma State and really into it today.

"But you know, at halftime I wasn't real pleased, to be honest with you. As a matter of fact, I was ticked off. I didn't like the way we played. We've got Raef LaFrentz, who's playing his tail off, and he has four shots in the first half, and two of them were after offensive rebounds. Everybody's content to throw the sucker up from behind the three-point line, and that's not the way to win. We needed better balance, and we need to get it in. And all of a sudden in the second half we got the ball to Raef, and those three-pointers were all of a sudden even more open. We've gotta understand that when you have somebody like Raef, you need to get the basketball inside. We need to get the other team in foul trouble.

"In the second half we were sensational. It was something to sit there and watch. I'm not shocked at how well we played, but I am shocked at that margin. I know we caught Colorado on a tough night. They'd just played Wednesday night at Oklahoma and had a tough night there. They'd been on the road and then have to come in here, and we were enthused.

"It's the kind of thing where the kids are trying to really enjoy themselves. I look down at the stat sheet, and to me Jacque Vaughn was really the star of the game. He has one field goal. And yet there's no one in that locker room any happier than he is right now. He was sensational defensively. Chauncey (Billups) is a heck of a player, but Jacque did a heck of a job on him. Raef 23 point, 13 rebounds. BJ was more active offensively than he's been and still does a great job defensively.

"The guys coming off the bench.... Billy was important to us. I thought Ryan did a good job when he got in there. And Noonball sort of lit it up there at the end. The guys in the locker room are thinking Noonball is going to be on SportsCenter tonight.

"The points are fine, but I like the fact that we shoot a good percentage from the three-point line. 13 for 24 is the most we've shot this year, the most we've made this year, and it's a good feeling for those kids to knock 'em in. I like TJ Pugh, for example, set a great screen for Billy to get a three. TJ gets fouled, and he was more happy for billy making the three-pointer than anything else, because he had done his job. It was a very little job, but it was important to our play."

Roy Williams says Scot Pollard won't play Monday against MU, but will play some next Saturday versus KSU on Senior Night. "It might just be to go out there and shoot a three. He'll play because it's his last home game. The smart thing is to not rush him, but at the same time we don't want to wait until we get into the (NCAA) tournament, because that's not a good time to bring him back. I want him to play as many regular season games as he possibly can so he can get back in a groove himself."

CU coach Ricardo Patton - "In the first half I thought we were playing against eight people (KU + officials). This league has proven over a period of time that the road is atough place to play. this is how good teams treat visitors when they come to their place. Now we go home for athree-game stretch and we have to hold our own."

Scot Pollard on the students changing 'We want Pollard!' late in the game - "I looked at them and siad, 'I want Pollard, too.' Nobody wants me out there more than I do. I can go play now and set myself back. I will not do that. My goal is down the line. I do know I can't wait for the pain to go away. But if I don't, I'll be out all season. the doc tells me it's day to day."
