"I thought it was a great performance in the second half by our kids. I love the way everybody had a part in it. Scot was good. Raef was good. Paul was big-time offensively in the second half. Billy came in and gave us a spark. Ryan got the free fouls. I put Nick at the point for a couple of possessions. And Raef really had a great week.

"I did not realize (that this was KU's 1600th all-time win), and that does mean something to me. I'm one that probably appreciates the tradition and history of Kansas basketball more than any other coach who could be there. But it's something I'm proud to be associated with Kansas, and I'm very, vury lucky to be where I am.

"Ryan did some good things for us. And defensively it was a big challenge for him because Harold Deane has the ability to get you into the free throw area and draw fouls, and we didn't need Ryan in foul trouble. He did eventually get his fourth, but he did a good job distributing the basketball, and he made a big three-pointer down the stretch.

"The way we like to play is play a lot of people, use our depth, and then hopefully in the second half our guys will be a little fresher. Playing three straight days like this, we did try to get a lot of people in the game like we normally do. Ryan played 36 minutes, and that's more than I would want him to play in that situation. But what we tried to talk about at the half was now that we see what's going on, let's try to take advantage of what we've seen out there. I knew it was going to be a 40-minute basketball game. I didn't expect to win it in the first half, and I think our kids understood that.

"Somebody said Paul did not make the all-Tournament team. Every voter must've been drunk, that's all I can say."
