"It was a great game to watch as a fan, I guess. As a coach, it was frustrating. It seemed like both teams sort of made runs during the game. In the first half it was a four, five, six-point game, and then they made a run to take the lead. We had some substitutes in there at that point. Then we made a 9-1 run and got the lead back and then weathered the storm for the rest of the half. In the second half we came out and played really well early. But the fact of the matter is I can say 'really well,' and all that means is our shots went in. Then we hit a spell when we didn't make any baskets, and they make a run and get it back (from 19 points) to six or seven, and at that point it was just a matter of weathering the storm the rest of the game.

"You look at the starters, having five starters in double figures is something that we like to have, but we'd like to have more production from our bench, too. But a couple of things: Scot Pollard's rebounding in the first half was really something. He just dominated the boards, and that got our break going. The same early in the second half.

"They (IU) really caused us problems. They're a hard team to play, they're very sound, as we all know. They play extremely hard and do the things that make it difficult.

"Jerod had his best game since the Utah game, but I wasn't worried about Jerod to begin with. Defensively he was really something. In fact down the stretch in the last five or six minutes we put him on Evans, and Evans got no looks from three, because Jerod was able to get around the screens a little bit easier. We started with Paul on him, and for a freshman he really did a good job.

"Our offense was clicking pretty well. I was looking at the free throw stats, and we hit 9-12 in the first half. In the second half we were 7-14. I know Raef missed two, Jacque missed four. If we hit those, I'd really feel good about our offense except we shouldn't shoot 5-17 from the three-point line. But we're getting better, because you have to to shoot 53%, and I look at that more than I look at the number of points.

"(After the game) Bobby (Knight) said he really likes our club and was interested in what I thought about their club. He's always been very positive with me. I respect him a great deal, I like him a great deal, and I try to steal more and more things from him every year, because I like the way they play."
