"I don’t think I’ve ever been a part of a better basketball game. The atmosphere was great. The stakes were high. Tt was well officiated. they had nine turnovers, and we had ten. Both teams shot the heck out of it. Just when you think the other team’s got control, guys step up and make plays. It was awesome. This will go down as one of the great ones ever to be played in this building.

"We can go back and look at defense, and I’m sure our defense wasn’t as good as I wanted. But that is, without question, the way they played today, the best team we have played this year. They made plays. I mean, JamesOn Curry, you don’t expect a freshman to come in here and play like that. And how about Lucas? He’s 4-5 from three and 9-11, and his last one was right on line, too. Kids competing and battling, and it couldn’t have been a better way to end for us. It could have been disastrous if things hadn’t gone our way. But how about those seniors stepping up and making plays. And Hawk was great off the bench, and of course, Mike was great. And people take him for granted, but how valuable is Christian Moody? We just look like a totally different team with him out there. We wanted to bring him along slow, so we only played him 34 minutes. He was fabulous. I was on his tail about guarding Joey. The guy can go 20 yards in three steps. He is a fabulous, fabulous player. And to put a guy from Carolina who walked on here, and to put your team’s hopes on him and say, ‘Hey, he’s yours today even though you have a staph infection and you haven’t played for two weeks. ’ But did he respond!

"(Simien) shot it great. We’ve struggled getting the ball to him. That’s been pretty well documented. We knew having Christian in the game would help, but our guys did a real good job of looking for him. Keith did a great job slashing in the second half; Aaron made some huge plays, but let’s call it like it is. Dub put us on his shoulders today for a while. Everybody played great, but he was a man out there today.

"(Eddie Sutton) is a classy guy. You don’t feel like talking much after a game like that, but I’m sure we’ll talk later this week, and he’ll say that’ s one of the best games he’s had a chance to be a part of. Certainly for me, it was an honor to coach in this game. And I think the players will look back and think it was an honor to play in it. And I know the fans will look back, and ten years from now there will be 27,000 who say they were here at this game.

"We haven’t done anything yet. All we did today was set the table for what should be an emotional, fantastic Senior Night against a K-State team that’s obviously playing very well. There are so many things going on distraction-wise, we can’t let that take away from us winning the basketball game. We’ve got a lot of work to do. We control our own destiny. We’ve got two tough games left. And we’ve got to get JR going. For us to be good down the stretch, we’ve got to get him going and get everybody clicking. And then we go to Missouri. We put ourselves in a good position, but certainly we haven’t accomplished anything yet."
