"We were in too deep a hole. And when you're playing against a team like Oklahoma, you’re not going to turn the tables that much and play a perfect game, which is about what we would have had to play the second half. In the first half, we didn’t belong in the building. In fact, we didn’t even belong in the same league with them because we were not in the same league. It may say so on paper when you look up and look at those stats, but we’re not in the same league with them the way they played the first half and the way we played. The reason we were playing so poorly was they had something to do with that. It was mind-boggling. We couldn’t make a shot. We shoot 26%, and they shot 55%. We tried to go zone one play and had guys go to the wrong spot. It was ridiculous. We haven’t been playing as well recently as we need to play, and we fortunately have gotten by, but it caught up with us today. And we’ll find out a lot more about our basketball team.

"The second half, you have to feel good that the kids didn’t quit. They kept competing. But still, we didn’t make plays. When we got it to 14 and Kirk missed a wide-open three from the corner, then Nick missed a layup inside, and then Aaron turned it over on the break. We had it three straight possessions down 14, and at that point there was still about 6:00 left in the game, and then they still fall back from that. I think we got it to five or six at one time, and Keith Langford got a rebound off a missed free throw and went in and tried to lay it up, and that would have cut it to four. But when you’re way ahead like that, there’s no pressure on you. All the pressure’s on the other team. They’re gonna miss more shots and they’re gonna miss more free throws in that scenario than they normally would, and I think that’s what happened to help us come back.

"We did have some good shots that we didn’t make, but again I think Oklahoma’s defense, you’ve got to credit them for that. They’re always coming at you on a break. Keith Langford beats one guy when Jabahri Brown ran him down from behind and blocked it. One other time, Michael Lee’s got a break, and instead of passing it off, he charges Blake Johnston. You’ve got to make plays when you have opportunities. We did have some opportunities, but we’re not in the same league with Oklahoma."
