Roy Williams - "Those kids in there do feel like they've accomplished a great deal and feel good about themselves. They were a very confident bunch today, and I think their confidence, the way they felt about themselves and the way they were going to play may have been the key to the whole day, because we never let the crowd get into it. Even when a couple of calls or a couple plays or a couple of mis-plays would go against us, they still kept their poise.

"The first half it was very important that we get the ball inside. We got it inside to Raef, and he was 8-11 at halftime. I thought that was key for us. And then in the second half we knew they would make a run. But at the same time if we kept playing, we knew those runs wouldn't be more than two or three buckets at a time, and I think that's what happened.

"Jacque got his third foul, and Tyronn (Lue) is such a great guy at taking the ball to the basket, we decided to go zone ato try to keep Jacque out of four trouble and not let him get his fourth foul, and that might have bothered them a little bit. It bothered me because I don't coach the zone very well. But it did keep Jacque in the game.

"I made the decision earlier this week that when we got to this game today, I was going to try to get 20 to 25 minutes out of Scot, and we could decide whether he could come back and be the player we need him to be down the stretch. Just the last two or three days, he said this morning that Thursday was the best (his foot) has ever felt. And I think really the last two days is the first time it's really started feeling better for him. I think the key now is how he reacts tonight and tomorrow.

"Last time they outrebounded us, and so you can ask anybody in that locker room what the rebound totals were the last game, and they'll tell you, because we talked about it quite a bit. Raef was big, Paul was big, but Scot gave us a big lift, too. And then I liked Jacque's defense. Tyronn gets 18, but he's 6-15 and gets four of those from the foul line. Lue had eight assists and no turnovers, so he played his tail off, too. But I liked what our guys did, and it's nice to have Scot back in there.

"We're gonna play (in the Big 12 tournament), and we haven't won the sucker but once in eight years that I've played in it, so I'd like to go over there and play well, and still be playing the next day, and then we'll se what happens after that."

NU coach Danny Nee - "In my opinion that's the #1 team in the country. We've played three of the top five or six, and they are the best. They are a real quality team, and they deserve their #1 ranking.

"Kansas' pressure defense and physicalness caused problems for us the whole game. The other thing was our transition defense. They get the ball down the court so quickly, and then they sub guys in and out, and it just wears on you. That's what makes them #1.

"I was thinking about (whether is the best KU team he's coached against) coming into the game and comparing them to all the other Kansas teams. It's hard to make that judgement, because they are not done yet. They still have the tournament to play. I wish Roy and all their players luck in the tournament. I think they have a good chance of winning the whole thing."
