(On trailing 18-6 early in the game) "The game is still 40 minutes. You'll hardly ever see me call a timeout that early in the game. It was 18-10 when I looked up, and also we didn't have our starters in at that point. We had BJ in for Raef and Billy in for Sean. But after that we made a pretty good run at them, and the non-starters had a lot to do with that.

(On KU's three-point shot selection) "Overall I thought we did a pretty good job. Jacque had to force one with the time clock running out, but usually that is not a position that he puts us in. I thought we did a prety good job of getting it inside or getting penetration instead of just coming down and shooting the ball.

"I have been here seven years this week, and every year I have been here the Big 8 race has come down to the wire. It always comes down to the last couple of games for either us or another team. We set a goal at the beginning of the season to win the conference championship, and we are going to try our darnedest."
