Season summary

"At half it was a 12 or 13-point game, and we really felt good about that margin. But at the same time we knew we'd been a little sloppy with it and needed to play better in the second half. We came out in the second half and got a good first possession. We didn't look real good, but Jacque made a lob and Steve made a heck of a play out of that. Then we decided to try our trap, and that really bothered them for a little bit. Then it sort of snowballed on Colorado after that. We started making a bunch of shots, and they started missing a bunch.

"He's (Woodberry) been an outstanind player for four years at both ends of the court. He's been an outstanding leader this year. That basket put him over 1,000 points, but that's a very small measure of what he's meant to our program.

"Sean Pearson was hot today, and it's something we need. We need some scoring from the outside.

"The first half we shot the ball awful. We were 6-15 from the three-point line, 40 percent, and we had great shots. Then in the second half we started making some of those shots a little bit better.

"Defensively I thought we were really good, but we had to be because Donnie Boyce can score a lot of points in a hurry. Mark Dean was sensational on the backboards in the first half. He had eight rebounds at halftime, and I talked to our team about there's no way he can have eight rebounds again in the second half if we do what we're supposed to do. And Greg Ostertag was important in the second half, because he blocked seveal shots inside and really made it difficult for them.

"Only having one day to get ready for Missouri isn't a good spot to be in, but it wouldn't matter if I had 25 days. Missouri is an outstanding basketball team. I predicted they would be that, and I still believe they are. They've got six guys who started at least 10 games last year. They're destroying people defensively. They've got a heck of a basketball team."
