Assistant Coach Joe Dooley "We definitely gave up too many offensive rebounds. Fifteen offensive rebounds was a little too much for us to offset. When you look at the statistics, we made the same amount of threes. They made 19 free throws and we made eight, so they got to the free throw line. The free throws and the offensive rebounds were a big swing against us. We were able to withstand a couple of runs, and we had a couple of times when we had the lead that we thought if we hadn’t turned the ball over, we would have been able to build on it. But we turned the ball over at inopportune times, and all those things came back to haunt us.

"They shoot 24 (FTs) and we shoot ten. We turned it over 11 times, and they turned it over five. And then 15 offensive rebounds is too many. We’ve got to clean the backboard a little bit better than that. It can’t just be Wayne. We’ve got to group rebound the ball. But we gave ourselves a chance. Guys did some good things at the end. JR stepped up and made a big shot. And even the last shot that Alex missed, we executed and got him a look and the ball was right there. It just wasn’t enough.

"Wayne was awesome, and getting him the ball was obviously a big part of what we wanted to do. He had another huge night with 30 points, and was just awesome again. Michael Lee was terrific again tonight, too. Mike really stepped up and played a great game. But it was good to see JR step up and make some shots. Coach told the guys it was a great effort. We’ve got to clean up and correct some of the mistakes we made, but we played hard. For the most part we played semi-efficiently, they stepped up and made some plays, and we didn’t finish it.

"We will have (Langford) back for the tournament. That’s important to us. We’ll get home, we’ll get some rest, we’ll find out who we’re playing, and then we’ll be prepared again. The guys’ attitudes are good. They’re disappointed, but Oklahoma State is a darn good basketball team. We’re disappointed we lost, but we didn’t lose to a bad basketball team.

"We can get back. We can get some rest. We can get treatment. We can get Keith a little bit closer to being healthy. We can get Wayne some rest. The young guys can put their feet up, and they’ll understand. The older guys have done a good job explaining to them what the seriousness of the situation is now."

OSU coach Eddie Sutton "The two games we’ve had with Kansas this year, and I’ve coached a long time, they’re two of the best where two teams really played hard with a lot of intensity and great defense. And yet there weren’t that many turnovers. The thing we have when we play Kansas, when Roy was here and certainly with Bill and his staff, there’s a lot of respect for each other and there’s no trash talking, and that’s the way the game used to be played, and that’s the way it ought to be played. When you play a game like that, win or lose, you can walk away and say, ‘Boy that was a great college basketball game.’"
