"We certainly played poorly tonight. But give them credit, they made us play poorly. But our energy level stunk. When you’ve got to beg guys to have energy and enthusiasm when you’re 13-0 and you’re coming home to a full student body, I think that’s pretty sad, and that’s what happened tonight.

"Our defense was pretty good early. Wayne picked up two fouls early, and one of them was a bad foul. And shot selection. We had guys who are supposed to drive it and attack the paint, all they’d do was bail them out by shooting threes. Our point total was because, A) guys stood, B) we didn’ t run, and C) primarily because of no ball and body movement. We should have gotten the ball to the second or third side. We did a better job of that in the second half, but I’m really disappointed in our performance tonight.

"It tells you a lot when starters have two points (in the first half). That ’s a sad display right there. That’s what I told our guys at halftime. Our starters only have two points, and we’re only behind by three. When your bench has to keep you in a game when you’re playing at home, that’s not very good. The second half we played better offensively. We played great defense to start the game and had a chance to crack the game open, then we made some mistakes mentally that upper classmen aren’t supposed to make. Like the last possession, we go double-team the ball and give them an uncontested three. This was a game that if we had made our free throws we would have won easily. But in all honesty, I’m not saying we should have, but we very easily could have lost the game just by not playing smart.

"I don’t feel like the guys ever thought we could lose the game, which is a good trait, but it’s also a trait of lack of respect for your opponent. We dodged a big bullet tonight. When things didn’t go well early, it was just like, ‘Let’s get through this,’ and that’s not a good way to start off with the students getting back here. That was about as weak as I’ve seen us play, even though Nebraska made us play that way. They did a good job. They’re well coached and they controlled tempo and they’re a hard team to pressure, but there were some ridiculous things that went on tonight."
