"I did lose it over there. I didn't think we were being very effective on the offensive end. We had shots from two to three feet. We were getting two to three whacks at it and not putting it in. We were making silly passes, throwing lobs whn we didn't have a good grip. I was really disappointed in the way we were playing at that time.

(Williams had another dizzy spell in the first half.) "The way we were playing, wouldn't you get dizzy?

"Trent Pulliam was a 26% shooter from the three-point line in conferenc eplay. Today he looked like he was 126%. A lot of times we do not give the other team credit. It says 'Jackson State,' not 'ugly dogs' on their uniforms.

"I was really concerned when Jacque got his fourth foul, but I am also very lucky. I have Ryan Robertson, who has been in some big games before. I have a great deal of confidence in him."

Jackson State coach Andy Stoglin - "Our guys relaxed whe he (Vaughn) left (with foul trouble). We preached so much that Vaughn is their fast break, and when he left we let up.

"We gave up too many easy baskets. (KU reminds me of) those Boston Celtics teams the way their big guys run. Their size affected us.

"We ran an offense we normally run during a delay game. We tried to out-quick their big people, and it worked for awhile.

"We turned (Pulliam) loose llike we did Lindsay Hunter in Hawaii, because we couldn't get much offense."
