Roy Williams - "We need to congratulate Missouri. They were sensational. They shot 54% against us. I've always been proud of what we do on the defensive end of the floor, but in the last week or so I've been disappointed. Today Missouri made us look like we're not a very good defensive team at all, and that's disappointing. But again you've got to give them some credit, because they made every play in the seocond half.

"Then on the offensive end we go to the line and had oopportunites to score eight points in a row at one time and get zero out of it, and you can't do that against a quality team like Missouri. They were very good defensively, very good on the backboards. At half we had 13 points on offensive rebounds; in the second half we had two points the whole half.

"They beat us offensively; they beat us defensively; they beat us on the backboards; they beat us coaching. They beat us every way you can be beaten.

"We've got to shoot the ball in the hole to be the kind of team we want to be, and sometimes we've been able to get by with just our defense and our rebounding and have it (shooting) in four or five-minute spurts. Tonight we didn't have a long spurt like that even when we got up five or six.

"Scot was in foul trouble, but still we had five guys out on the floor whether it was Scot or TJ or BJ or whoever it was. I'd like to have Scot in the game more than 21 minutes, but he wasn't.

"I was never thinking about going undefeated (in the Big 8), but I was thinking about playing better than we played today. We didn't play well, and we didn't coach well."

MU coach Norm Stewart - "For this group it's really a super win. I'm pleased for them. We were almost into the mode that if we can hold them under a hundred, we'd beat them.

"We've had some difficulties, but today kid of atones a little. Maybe we can go from here."
