"I thought we were really good at the defensive end of the floor, but also thought we caught Connecticut on a day where they didn't play their best. They missed a lot of open shots. There were a lot of times that they turned around and threw it to us. We felt very good about our play. Probably more than anything, I liked our intensity and aggressiveness offensively. We knew they were going to press, we knew they were quick and athletic, but we had to make sure we took care of the basketball.

"I think Jacque was sensational, pushing the ball up the floor, more or less negating their press. Jerod was knocking in shots. I thought Sean Pearson was really good. Greg Ostertag didn't get off to a good start, but Scot Pollard comes in and does some good things. Billy made some shots for us in the first half. The first half we made a huge majority of our shots form the three-point line, and that gave us a lead. And after that we just had to keep playing.

"We've said all along we've got players on our bench who can come in and play and do good things for us, and we expect them to come in and play. The reason they feel more comfortable is that we do play them. UConn has had better performances from their bench, too.

"It was a fantastic crowd, but I didn't want them yelling "overrated," because the guy on the other bench is a friend of mine, and I didn't want them to tick anybody off."
