Box score

Season summary

"It was two teams that played really, really hard, and it was a battle on the backboards. Neither team shot it real well, so you had a lot of missed shots. And neither team made the shots inside, so there was a lot of baning going on, a lot of guys getting boxed out, and a lot of guys trying not to be boxed out.

"We knew we'd get a great effort from Oklahoma after the loss they had Saturday (89-105 vs OSU). Jeff Webster was really difficult to stop. Ryan Minor, I still think he's just fantastic, does so many things for them. I thought Pete Lewis did a good job for them tonight. But we got good play from a lot of guys, too. Steve Woodberry, if you take away his missed free throws, he was really good. Patrick Richey had probably his best rebounding game that he's ever had for us. Greg (Ostertag) set a career high in rebounds for us.

"I talked to all our guys. You got to raise your level a little bit. This is a different level that we're playing from now on, and they've got to understand that. I don't think we did in the first half.

"Billy Tubbs, I've said many times he's a competitive rascal. He like a little bit of that outlaw image, but people don't give him the credit for being able to coach the game the way he can. I really believe that.

"I think it was important for the kids, because they knew they'd be with me for a week if they didn't come back and play well in the second half. We'll give them tomorrow off completely, then we'll come back and try to practice really good and really hard, go back to the basics. We're not doing a good job with our freelance offense, and we want to do a better job with that."
