"I thought we did some good things. Sometimes you don’t shoot the ball well, and you’ve got to kind of grind some things out. But we didn’t have any energy tonight compared to the other night. None. And our perimeter didn’t create any havoc or any energy. We played like a tired team, which we may be. That could be my fault, because we’ve been practicing really long the last four days or so. The reason we don’t score is because we’re not patient enough to score. We just come down and guys hold the ball. When we move the ball, when we drive it to pass it, we’re pretty good. But tonight we looked like a team that was very stale offensively.

"I doubt (tonight’s starting lineup will be a preview of the future). We’ll probably switch some things up. Sasha had the great first game; C.J. had a very good game tonight. We’ve just got to get everybody moving in the same direction in all areas. Christian is solid. I know what he can do. Still, we’re not getting the production out of him that he needs to give us. He needs to be more aggressive

"But all in all, there were some things tonight that were positive. But there were some things that happened tonight that were just stale. Our perimeter, more so than our big guys, was stale tonight. They gambled and missed and didn’t stay within our principles. We’ve got to get a lot better. But when you play a team like Pitt State that holds the ball and sets a ton of screens, sometimes you get impatient.

"Darnell was good. He’s been about as good as anybody over the last three weeks or so; maybe the last month. It’s unfortunate that we’re dealing with this thing (his eligibility). But hopefully that will come to a permanent resolution real soon. The NCAA cleared him to play tonight, but we haven’t heard officially if there will be anything else. We’ve prepared, in case there is. But we’ll find out in the next 48 hours, probably.

"We just fouled, and put our hands on them, and our guards looked slow compared to their quickness. We just fouled way, way, way too much. And we fouled on plays that don’t matter. That’s frustrating. They were going to struggle against our defense, then we end up fouling them, and 18 of their 47 points come from the free throw line.

"We’ve got to respect our opponents, no matter who it is, and keep the ball in front of us. You could point to everybody for making a good play or two, but as a whole and as a group, we’ve got to get a lot sounder faster and play with a lot more energy in order to have a chance to compete successfully against the teams that are going to be on our schedule early in the season.

"It will be a busy week, and the guys have got to be hungry and focused. We only really practice two more times before our next four games. We’ll practice Wednesday and Thursday, play Friday, travel Saturday, hour practice Sunday, then play three games. We could have scored more points if we had shown anything. We didn’t show anything on purpose because we’re trying to maybe steal a couple of baskets in Maui or against Idaho State, just because all of the games are on TV. We’ve got to get ready for Idaho State, and we know that will be a great way to kick off a week-long trip to Maui with a good win on Friday."
