"I thought we played hard. We just missed so many lay- ups the first half. I think we missed five, and we didn’t make our free throws when it’s a tie game. We were right there at it at halftime. I can’t say it was a bad night. I thought the guys fought hard. We had to play through some things. Wayne Simien is one of the very best players in America, let alone our league, and he gets zero calls. That’s frustrating. There’s a reason why the spread was 15 instead of closer than that--because we didn’t make the most of lay-ups and didn’t get to the free throw line numerous times when I thought we should have. Of course, the tape will tell that. But the guys fought. It was a much better effort than our last two road games.

"Forget the assists number because we shot the ball so poor early from the perimeter. We would have been so much better off early to try to go inside on every single possession when we weren’t making shots. JR made a couple, but that was it, and we didn’t do a good job of continuing to attack them inside. We had some turnovers early, but 12 for the game isn’t terrible. The problem is we didn’t have many assists to set up easy baskets.

"We didn’t do a great job defending them. They’re a hard team for us to defend when Boddicker is in the game. Either way, they’re a hard team for us to defend, and we didn’t do a good job. But they stepped up and made some plays. Every time we made a run, they had an answer.

"The season is a long way from being over. We’ll continue to work and fight. There aren’t too many teams that would have won in Austin tonight the way they played. I thought there were some stretches when we played real good ball. We fought hard. And just because we have four losses in our league right now, trust me, the season is a long way from being over."
