"They (ISU) played really hard and they were just much tougher than us. The first half we defended them well and rebounded the ball pretty well, but the second half they dominated us offensively and defensively. And as bad as our offense was, all you got to do is hold a team to 40 points in a half and you still win the basketball game. We obviously couldn’t do it.

"Their perimeter players had their way with our perimeter players today. Keith put up some numbers, and if it weren’t for Keith we would not even have been in the basketball game late. But their perimeter players dominated our perimeter players, and their big guys dominated our big guys in the second half. So needless to say, we're frustrated that we let one slip away. You’re up seven or eight on the road at Hilton Coliseum at halftime, you’ve got to come out of the locker room with a little bit more toughness than we demonstrated tonight.

"You can tell how hard we compete when Keith gets four offensive rebounds and the next leading rebounder gets two. You can tell right there that there’s not many competitive juices flowing through our bodies at that point. The crowd got to us. We can lose, but we didn’t give this one away. They beat us. You’ve got to get stops. When the game’s on the line, you’ve got to get stops, and they shoot a layup. And that shouldn’t happen with bad teams, let alone teams that have the capability of being much better than that, which we are. Very disappointing.

"We didn’t attack (ISU zone) very well at all. There were holes, and we got the ball where we wanted it to go early and came away with nothing. Our big guys didn’t finish very well. But still, we got some looks, but we were so passive. We’re more experienced than that. When things don’t go our way, we’re more experienced than that to realize you got to think ‘next play.’ And this was a game where things bothered us way too much, at least from a confidence standpoint.

"Regardless of the league race, we’re up eight at halftime, and we’re down three with 40 seconds left, and all we’ve got to do is get one stop. That’s all we’ve got to do is get one stop, and have a chance to hit a quick two or send it into overtime, but we didn’t get it done."
