10:30 AM CT listen to
the Crimson & Blue pregame show followed by game coverage beginning at 11:30 AM with Brian Hanni and Greg Gurley on the Jayhawk Radio Network courtesy of the KU Athletics leanplayer app!

Well, it’s a good day for being in Ames,
And it’s a good day for playing the game,
Could be a great day if the ‘Clones go down in flames!
You know the Jayhawks want to have a good day!
It’s another KANSAS JAYHAWKS Men’s Basketball...
... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL DAY!!
Saturday at 12:00 noon CT on ABC our AP#9 KANSAS JAYHAWKS (19-5|9-2) strive to extend their eight game winning streak to NINE as they face the AP#5 Iowa State Cyclones (21-3|8-3) for the second time this season, this time on their court in Hilton Coliseum.
The Jayhawks are 144-55 against ISU, with the Jayhawks winning the last two games (both in Lawrence) and 7 of the last 10.
.
Larry Brown went 0-5 in Ames (yep, even with Danny for 4 years, Larry never beat Johnny Orr in Ames).
Roy was 8-7.
Bill is 14-8 in Ames.
He’s lost the last two games played there.
Last time he won there was 2022.
Time for another upset of the Cyclones by Bill's Boys!
Peterson is playing per Pete Thamel and JayhawkSlant’s Shay Wildeboor. (h/t to konza63 for the news!)
Yes, I'm saying KU has a chance!
ESPN's Matchup Predictor has KANSAS winning just 26.8% of the time (link). The spread is 7.5 points in ISU’s favor.
asteroid had not posted his predictions for this game at post time. However, his Big XII Projection Round 12 projects a 69-75 LOSS for KANSAS. As he himself wrote, “...there are no road wins projected for Round 13. But let's get one in Ames anyway.”
ROCK CHALK, asteroid!
Here is the link to CorpusJayhawk’s Rock Chalk Challenge newsletter projection with the predictions for this game (and again soooo much more). The DPPI is projecting just a 29% chance of a KU win, with ISU winning by almost 8 points.
But Corpus himself says KU 71-70!
Lift the chorus ever onward, Corpus!
May our favorite KU Men's hoops prognosticators (and all of us!) have their wishes fulfilled!
As always, there are links to make you think...

Well!
That did not go anywhere near as expected.
I was sure it would be rough, but I did not think that the ISU defense would dominate as much as they did.
konza63 has some interesting thoughts on integrating DP into this team, perhaps he'll post them.
All I can say is they won 8 straight, they can go on a tear again.
They have shown they can...
But after today I am starting to wonder if they really are better with DP on the floor?
Last couple of games he was average at best.
Today in 24 minutes he was
3-10 (2-6 3PT)
2-2
10 points
0 rebounds
0 assists
4 turnovers
0 assists
0 steals
That's a pretty mundane line.
Okay for a 7 or 8 man, but not a starter who is projected to be the prime offensive weapon.
And why was he back on the bench this time?
Still no legs?
I don't know, I'm just wondering.
Things that make you go hmmm...

My take on why DP was on the bench late is as knowledgeable about what is actually going on with the team as the chair I am sitting on, but I will give it anyway. I think he was still a bit under the weather, and the zebras were letting them be extremely physical with him, and HCBS felt the team was better off taking him out of the equation. Obviously if you are going to be useful in the NBA you are going to need to be able to deal with that physicality. Was DP not able to handle it because he was not as healthy as he needed to be? I have no idea but I thought it took him out of his game today.

I think his conditioning was shot given he had the flu. Hard to fight through the physical nature of the game when you're exhausted...
