I got nothin’ clever tonight to deliver.
So I’m leavin’ the deliverin' to the ‘HAWKS!
ROCK CHALK, JAYHAWKS!
Add to the ESPN Big Monday glory on another KU MEN'S BASKETBALL...
... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!
Time for another JAYHAWKS ROAD WIN as our AP11 KANSAS JAYHAWKS travel deep into the Texas Panhandle to take on host AP13 Texas Tech at 8:00 PM CT on ESPN’s BIG MONDAY (Fran Fraschilla, Jon Sciambi and Angel Gray reporting)
7:30 PM CT The Crimson and Blue Show radio coverage begins, leading into Brian Hanni and Greg Gurley calling the game for the Jayhawk Radio Network on the kuleanplayer.
KEY FACTOIDS
Although KU leads the series 43*-9 (again, *THW the NCAA), Tech has won the last 2 games in the series, including a win in AFH. In a season where KANSAS still has a say in its destiny, the JAYHAWKS can still guarantee itself at least a share of the Big 12 title by winning out the rest of the way (a Herculean task, but just like “nuke from orbit" it’s the "only way to be sure”), today is just the latest "must win" game on the schedule. And although it is listed as a one or two possession game, our beloved boys in blue are not the favorite in those projections (except in the hearts of JAYHAWKS fans around the world, of course!).
DP is good for tonight. Elmarko is listed as questionable, meaning the short bench has become even shorter and more important than ever. Saturday’s exhaustive win over BYU leaves a big question mark about how much (as asteroid put it) the guys batteries have recharged by now. HCBS is going to have to earn his money time-managing the lads in Crimson & Blue to give them the best chance of winning. And, of course, DP has to last the whole game or the odds of a KU win drop like a rock despite the stellar Ku defense.
LINKS
ESPN analytics favor TT over KU 55% of the time, with the spread favoring Tech by 3.5 points (Link)
asteroid's prediction model yields KU losing 58% of the time but basically a one possession game. link
CorpusJayhawk's Rock Chalk Challenge pregame - and so much more - writeup can be read here.
His basic DPPI projection has KU losing by 1 point 53% of the time.
He personally has KU winning 78-75.

Damn the analytics, full speed ahead!
KU wins 64-61 in an ugly, gritty road game in the Big 12 and stays in contention for a long shot at the regular season title!
3rd year TT head coach Grant McCasland is now 30-6 in home games.
We're not talking a road win by a foe in THE PHOG, but it's in that kind of rare air.
You say Dame Fortune played a role as Tech was without its starting PG?
I say how often has KU been on the other end of that stick?
Luck be a lady tonight indeed!
A thought struck my mind after tonight's game, given what we have seen this season so far...
Bill Russell
Flory Bidunga?
Too soon, to be sure, but Flory's defense, his ability to find a way to score around the hoop, the way he moves on the court,,,
Also -
After every great game like BYU, someone needs to say the following to our guys -
"Great, KANSAS!
Don't get cocky!"
