"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
(In celebration of the publication of Jim Butcher’s “TWELVE MONTHS – a novel of The Dresden Files”… I like to think that Harry Dresden - all 6’9” of him - would be a fan of the JAYHAWKS… - HE)
On a wintry, snow covered stretch of the Konza Prairie the Wizard stood against the winter wind and chill, raised his staff and intoned “HEAR ME, ye Basketball gods, the JAYHAWKS will WIN TONIGHT!”
The gale flashed in intensity as if to blow him off the rolling hilltop, but the Wizard held his footing, raised his staff again and cried “In the Names of NAISMITH and ALLEN, HEAR ME, Basketball gods, the JAYHAWKS will WIN TONIGHT!”
The wind whirled around him, making the freezing air even colder than before, driving him to one knee, forcing the Wizard to use his staff to stand again and then roar over the howling wind “THREE TIMES SAID, BY THEIR POWER LET IT BE DONE – THE JAYHAWKS WILL WIN TONIGHT!”
And the raging winter maelstom veiled the Wizard from the eyes of the mortal world as the night sky glowed, backlit by his Power...
It's another KU MEN'S BASKETBALL...
... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!
After last Tuesday's imminently satisfying ROAD WIN in Allen Fieldhouse West. our Crimson & Blue clad lads (14-5, 4-2) sojourn to the den of iniquity known as the Octagon of Gloom to take on in-state rivals K State (10-9, 1-5) at 7:00 PM CT on Fox (Play-by-Play: Jason Benetti; Analyst: LaPhonso Ellis)
6:30 PM CT The Crimson and Blue Show radio coverage begins, leading into Brian Hanni and Greg Gurley calling the game for the Jayhawk Radio Network on the kuleanplayer.
KEY FACTOIDS
Although KU leads the series 206*-97 (41*-9 in the Bill Self era, *THW the NCAA), KState has won the last 3 games in Manhattan. In a season where any chance at possibly catching up with the conference leaders essentially means winning out the rest of the way, today is just the latest "must win" game on the schedule.
DP is DNP for tonight. The ankle he rolled against CU has him not ready yet.
LINKS

asteroid's prediction model yields a KU win by 5 or 6 points 71% of the time. link
CorpusJayhawk's Rock Chalk Challenge pregame - and so much more - writeup can be read here.

I cleaned up the "leftovers" at the end of the OP, and here add the Game Injuries listing from COVERS.com (see the link at the end of the OP for more at Covers.com)
The only way things could really be better for KU would be for DP to be able to play
and KState's Haggerty NOT be able to play.
Still, lately the way KState girds their kitty loins and balls out when KANSAS is in the house?
Tonight SHOULD be a KANSAS victory, but
It ain't over 'til it's over, Jayhawks fans.

HE - love it. I was not as politically correct in my post about the game. I think Ksuck is a waste of Kansas taxpayers’ hard earned money.
