10:30 AM CT listen to
the pregame show on the Jayhawk Radio Network courtesy of the KU Athletics leanplayer app!
(Sing this one as you drop the top at Chesapeake Bay...)
Tuesday the wind blew some luck KU's direction
The Jayhawks grabbed it, made the plays.
Now it's a very tricky situation
to go to Morgantown to play.
Self's Jayhawks always struggle in the mountains,
the Konza Prairie's their domain.
But if his guys can take off in the morning
they can bring a win home on Saturday...
Hawk flight... feels right
it's a...
... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL DAY!!
Saturday at 11:00 AM CT on FOX our KANSAS JAYHAWKS (11-3/1-1) face the West Virginia Mountaineers (10-5/1-1) in Morgantown, one of the few Big 12 venues in which Bill Self has a losing record (5-7) as head coach of KANSAS. First year WVU head coach Ross Hodge has his Mountaineers ready to defend their home court after coming from behind on Tuesday night to defeat Cincinnati (sound familiar?).
The Jayhawks are 21-8 against WVU (the 19-7 record listed in the KANSAS Game Notes is wrong), but only 5-7 in Morgantown, and are currently on a two game losing streak against the Blue & Gold. (You will sadly recall that last year's Jayhawks did what no other squad had done before, lose to WVU in AFH).
Time to start a NEW streak, JAYHAWKS!
ESPN's Matchup Predictor favors KANSAS to win 55% of the time (link).
asteroid had not posted his predictions for this game at post time. However, his Big XII Projection Round 2 post projects a road win for KANSAS!
CorpusJayhawk has posted his Rock Chalk Challenge newsletter with the predictions for this game (and again soooo much more), projecting KU managing to triumph in the Appalachians this time! (link) (Sure hope he is right!)
