tu has booted him, as was generally expected. SI.com

Holy crap! This is tragic. I wish no one ill will and that includes Chris Beard. But what I do wish is to see righteousness and fairness and goodness prevail. But also I am saddened by this whole debacle. But I guess that and $25 will get you a double mocha latte at Starbucks. I wish people would do no bad things but when they do, I do hope that fairness and rightness is the response. Beard is clearly a great actual basketball coach. But unfortunately some very poor personal choices have interfered with his career. In the world of super high profile hero worship status that our entertainment world seems to be, Beard’s poor choices can often reflect on the school, the fans and others. As best I can tell, good on UT, They seem to have handled this straight up. And this in no way should reflect on UT. Beard allegedly did some reprehensible things that in today’s world require certain consequences. I do hope we see him back in college coaching, repentant, forgiven and truly wiser. But that repentant thing is sort of a critical step. He has an opportunity right now to do that and set himself on a path for restoration. I hope he does that. As for UT, good on them. As for UT fans, onward through the fog as the saying goes. As for UT players, I hope the new coach can keep them focused. This conference season is promising to be amazing and fun. We don’t need anything to distract from that.

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!

As expected. Sad story all around. He screwed up royally and unless they were going to prove that his girlfriend was some king of psycho who inflicted the injuries on herself, this how it had to go. Even the girlfriend recanting her accusations was too little too late.

Selfishly, I'll miss Beard as a coach. Seemed like a good guy, good coach, and he elevated the conference overall. On the flipside, I was taught never to resort to violence and that goes quadruple to violence toward women. Sexist? Ok, I can live with it.

Hoping Beard goes and gets himself sorted out and comes back a better man making better decisions down the road.
