"In the first half for one stretch, we had very good shots and didn't make any of them. And then we started forcing some. The pressure got to us. We started feeling more pressure that you've got to get the ball up quickly. Broke down there. In the second half we felt like we had some pretty good shots again, but didn't put the ball down. But that sounds like it's just in our corner, and you've got to give Texas credit for playing great defense on us, bothering our shots. You can't shoot 31% on an opponent's court when it's a good opponent, and have any chance to win.

"Their whole defense was good. They're very quick, very athletic, very strong out front. Then they have Muoneke and Mihm back there on the back line to try to bother some shots. I thought Wagner was extremely important for them. Over the last three years, we've gotten to see him get better and better and better. It was a much better night for them than it was for us.

"We got it (Texas' lead) to 10, and Drew missed a shot. We had a chance to get it to nine one other time, and Nick Collison missed a free throw. We wanted to try to get it inside single digits at the four minute mark, and I felt like we'd still have a chance then, and we'd come out and try to pressure a little bit more. We were trying to stay out of foul trouble. We were just having trouble guarding them.

"We wanted to run them, and in the first half the opposite happened. They ran us. We didn't do a good job of getting back. I thought our big guys would be able to run much better. That was supposed to be a point of emphasis for us, but Muoneke, Mihm, and Owens did a better job. We took it to the basket a couple of times, but it seemed like every time we went up, we didn't go up as strong as we needed to, and they were blocking or bothering the shot. It was a frustrating night.

"Kirk is one of the toughest competitors we have. He's a freshman, and I understand all that, but he's an awfully tough youngster, and tried to do as much as he could do out there. It just wasn't meant to be, I guess."
