Roy Williams - "I really didn't coach that well today. It was a heck of a ball game, an exciting ball game, but it wasn't a very well-played ball game. But that's college basketball, and that's what happens when two teams are playing that hard against each other.

"It took (Raef LaFrentz) a long time to get into the game. But when he did, he came out aggressiviely in the overtime, and that was good for our team. It's good to see a guy step up like that and want the ball, and I think our guys recognized that, tried to get it to him, and fed off of that as well.

"On Wednesday we were 20 out of 25 at the line in front of a really hostile crowd (actually 22-29 in an 86-77 victory at Texas Tech), and then today we're positively awful. I guess that's what happens when you're dealing with 18-, 19-, and 20-year-old kids. College basketball is a crazy thing sometimes.

"We're very proud and very excited to set that record (best start in KU history), and I think it's a testament to how hard our kids have worked. That's something to say that in 99 years no other team has had this kind of season."

NU coach Danny Nee - "We were good today because guys attacked the basket and got aggressive during the second half. You can't give a good team like Kansas 28 turnovers.

"Tyronn Lue get excited coming here because this is his backyard (from Mexico, MO), but our whole team was excited to come in here against a 21-0 team. We never counted ourselves out. It's you guys (media) who count us out.

"I don't think people appreciate what (Kansas) has here. It's special what Roy Williams has done here. When they win their first national championship, it will be similar to Nebraska football when they won their title."
