Roy Williams - "We feel good about what we've done. I don't get into margin of victory. We're still trying to improve every day.

"The first half is as good as we've played all year. Defensively we were really sharp. We were able to get to their three-point shooters. We were able to keep Steve Nash from penetrating so much. That was primarliy Jacque's job, but he got some help from his teammates.

"I've gotten some credit for a couple of good halftime talks, but that one has to go into the worst halftime talk barrel.

"We were as tentative in the second half as I've seen us. We've got to get that out of our system.

"I told the kids on the bench and again at the end of the game, it's human nature. It's hard to maintain that intensity and focus when you are up by 24 at halftime. You can't expect to beat them by 48. At the same time we can't accept that. From Oct. 15 until now we've been trying to improve every day. If you accept those kind of things, then you are not improving."

SC coach Dick Davey - "Hopefully I've learned a lot, since we open against them next year. Maybe we'll be a little better prepared.

"Obviously, I think that was a clinic by Kansas out there today. It was a great clinic for me to watch the technical things they do so well, lilke posting up and making the entry pass. They're exceptional. Unfortunately, they continued that today.

"I was really discouraged with our inside game."
