|Roy Williams - "It did start slow. I think you have to give credit to both team's defenses. Initially we were both tip-toeing through it. They were playing hard and so were we. I said to Lon (Kruger), 'Both teams need to make some shots to make it more fun for the fans to watch.'
"We did a much better job of being more aggressive in the post area and being more aggressive as far as our movement (in the second half). I thought in the first half we stood around an awful lot. I think in the second half we became more aggressive and tried to make their defense react to us.
"Defensively both halves we were pretty good, even though Dametri (Hill) is a load to handle in there. I knew it wasn't going to be just another non-conference game, that we were going to get their best shot."
UF coach Lon Kruger - "We didn't shoot the ball very well, but Kansas deserves some credit for that. I think we're going to shoot the ball better than that. It's not a matter of competing harder for better shots. Against Kansas, they're going to contest shots.
"They're (KU) outstanding defensively, especially at the guard spot. We were looking to get people open.
"Obviously their size wore us down. But I'm proud of the guys. They fought. They hung in there and battled. And I thought Dametri really battled.
"We got beat by a very good basketball team. Kansas is a team that sets the standard in a lot of ways. We just have to take some steps from here."
