Season summary

Roy Williams - "I think they are two equal basketball teams. You play 10 geams, there would probably be 10 fairly close games.

"I thought Oklahoma State's bench kicked out tails. Manzer had 12. that's a good chunk right there. When Eddie substituted, that's when they kicked our tails. It's not supposed to happen.

"We can do a better job guarding him (Reeves) on the court than the free throw line. The guy is a 57-58 percent free throw shooter. That shows you the kind of competitor he is. We put him on the line too many times.

(In the last :05 with KU down 1) "Steve (Woodberry) took one 8-9 feet out everybody would have loved to have a fould called, but that's not a complaint. I probably wouldn't have called anything either. We got a good shot, a good tap from point blank range. The ball just didn't stay down.

"It's crazy. The last two times we lost here we went to the Final Four."

Richard Scott - "There's nothing we can do about it. We've got to work on our mistakes and get ready for the (NCAA) tournament. It's time to cherish every game you have left. One loss and you're through."

Eddie Sutton - "I think if we played another five times, they'd be games just like that. Our three games this year have really been classics.

(Reeves went 5-14 on FTs Friday, then 15-17 today.) "He stayed up all night shooting them. No seriously, I can't explain it.

"Ostertag is the most improved player in our league and one of the most improved players in college basketball. There's no doubt in my mind the success he's had against Bryant has helped his confidence."
