I had avoided all news the entire day, fearing the outcome. A few moments ago I awoke for some reason and decided that was rather silly, only to find my worst fears confirmed.
What is wrong with this country that its people would elect someone so vile and despicable? We've elected bad presidents before, but we didn't know how bad they were until they had actually held office. Was this man actually chosen because of the insinuations, rumors, and lies that have been spread about Hillary Clinton continuously since her days as First Lady of Arkansas? How shameful that ultra conservatives and ultimately Fox news followers may have perpetuated these lies to the point that America has turned into a giant Kansas and has elected this scumbag. Or, did the Democrats fail to turn out as they have in some past years?
I am ashamed of this country. Is this who we really are? I am embarrassed. I am angry. I am very, very, worried. We have been the laughingstock of many of our allies, but now that's a minor point. What about our enemies? Scary.
