Good question! I'd love to hear his review.

I was able to watch the entire thing with my bare eyes because I have trained over the years by looking directly at the sun for greater and greater lengths of time until I worked my way up to 15 minutes.

Now, where's my dog and than damn cane!? ;)

I'm a little late in commenting on this, but unless asteroid came over to the mainland from Oahu he missed it completely.

Wheaty,

asteroid is an astronomer, Professor of Planetary Sciences at U of Hawaii. He has been studying asteroids since graduate school, and in recent years has been tackling the problem of finding near Earth objects (NEOs) so we know when to call up Bruce Willis and the crew for some space cowboying. (Actually, at our present level of tech, we are probably SOL if those guys ever do spot the big one coming).

He is something of a rock star in astronomy circles. The new asteroid taxonomy he developed in 1984 for his doctoral dissertation is still in use today.

Oh, and he is a KU Mens Basketball fan. :P

Wheaty, stop to think about how appropriately phrased your original question is given his interests. :)
