KU baseball is doing well easily beating Arizona in all three games this weekend and is now 4 games ahead of rivals, UCF, ASU and West Virginia. KU plays non-league Creighton on Tuesday and then a three game home series with co-second place West Virginia. They them close out the Big 12 season on the road at a middle of the pack BYU team. ASU has the weaker final schedule. West Virginia seems to be the toughest team, they just destroyed KSU on the road. Take at least on game against WVU and we probably win the Big 12. KU is currently ranked #11 Nationally.

or 8th, depending on the poll. 6 games left, 4 game lead. Magic number is 2. If KU can win the conf and not tank in the tournament, hosting a regional should be a given. There would also be a good chance of hosting a super regional (top

Cool USAF Jayhawk. I have never been a big baseball fan but my claim to fame, I was the wicket keeper (equivalent to catcher in BB). and only non-Indian, Pakistani or West Indian on the KU club cricket team in 1971. Ha Ha.

PS. Not sure we can host a super regional as our stadium and baseball facilities might be too small.

Super regional is just the best 2 out of three between two of the 16 Regional winners. Not sure why we couldn't do that. But you may be right...

OK, that was an ugly week. The KU baseball team lost a non-conference game to Creighton and all three home games to 2nd place WVU. The WVU pitchers were amazing and their hitting was excellent. KU seemed to be pressing all three games. With the three wins WVU is now one game behind KU. WVU plays a non-conference game on Tuesday and then a three home game series against a good TCU team. KU is on the road for a three game series with a so-so BYU team. Win all three and KU wins the Big 12 conference outright. Win two out of three and and the worse is a tie. Of course that could all change in our favor depending on how the outcome of the TCU/WVU series.

Their RPI dropped to 22 after this weekend so hosting a regional is now a long shot.

Yes, KU was able to win the Big 12 conference baseball title, outright. TCU beat WVU while KU was able to beat BYU on the road. With one game to play today KU holds a two game lead. Hope they get a home regional but as USAF noted, our RPI may limit that dream.
On a personal note, my granddaughter’s soccer team just won their first ever Kaw Valley conference and finished second in the 4A-1A soccer East regional standings. Being a small 1A school, they are unlikely to get too far at State but one can dream..

Continuing with them first, congratulations to the Baseball team for winning its first conference regular season title since 1949 - and just its 4th in KU history - taking 2 of 3 at BYU to finish the regular season 1 game ahead of runner up WVU
