Well DNP gets double teamed a lot. We know it, the coaches know it, he knows it and yet rather than find the open man, he controls his dribble and backs out and tries to reset. One of two things is happening here. Either he doesn’t have the vision to find the open man, or we aren’t properly breaking to the ball to give him that option. It is probably a little of both, but I am going to place more of it on him as I don’t see him attempting many passes.

This team seems to have a lot of potential, but I really don’t see us moving towards that potential. We seem to be stagnant.

This is another year where we cannot rejoin talent alone. We need to play with energy. When we do, the ball moves crisply on offense giving us space to drive in the lane and dish as appropriate. When we play with energy, we are aggressive on defense and get in to passing lanes leading to fast breaks. With energy, we crash the boards on both ends of the court. Without energy, we are a mediocre team.

The light up court in KC was strange. But visually it made the game look like it was a tinted black and white film from the 1940s. Didn’t particularly care for it, but thought it had some cool features.

Just my $.02

Good points. Peterson is a talented scorer, no doubt, but my yardstick for measuring his value is, does he make the team better? To this point, with a few exceptions, the answer is no. They simply play better and more cohesively without him. He too often plays one on one (or one on two) basketball and the other four stand and watch him. That results in some points, yes, but more often a stagnant offense. Opposing coaches have noticed, so they double team and trap him. It works.
