Some random thoughts.
The game Saturday was a little weird in that the team seemed to play well but got a little lazy at times. Looks like we will get to play TCU, assuming they win in the 2nd round.
Got very friendly with the people who sit around our seats. Fun group. Enjoyed sharing my extra ticket with Dare, HE and former 60s player Al Lopes along with my daughters, son-in-laws and other friends. The only real downer game was the Cincinnati game
In the NCAAs, this team could go out in the first round or win the National Championship.
Peterson fit in well Saturday. I think the difference was, one, he was feeling better, and two, I think Self or the other coaches or his teammates drilled into him the need to drive and not settle for outside shots, athough I watched the TTU replay last night and those last two 3s, were so Remy like.
It was fun seeing shots of his parents in the crowd on the replay. I heard they were very nice people. If he follows his father’s build, it looks like he will put in a few lbs as he ages.
It took a while but I think he and the team have embraced the KU history and vibe, so all though the last week or so have had some disappointments, this has been a fun season
I have a feeling that Council and White have had a strong influence in bringing Peterson out of his protective shell.
I want council to be a future assistant coach at KU. We need someone to be a motivation other than BS.
