“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
Love the visual here!
Kansas becomes the first team to notch victories against every member of the Big 12's Royal Six.
Hell of an accomplishment. And to think, if we just take care of business against the middling teams, we're undefeated and most definitely a 1 seed.
That's okay, I still like our chances, but what this tells us is we can really step up when the competition is elite - and play with anyone. (Though we still need to prove that that holds on neutral courts)

Finishing up this query Work In Progress before heading out to the dentist...
I have never heard the phrase "Big 12's Royal Six" before.
How is that designation conferred?
Does it change year to year?
Or is based on historical impact?
Or who has been the top 6 since the Big 12 became 16?
Just curious of its provenance.
Thanks!

He's basing it on the cream of the crop in the league this year, based on all measurables and metrics - first and foremost being W-L record, of course, but also rankings.
He's a really solid bracketologist - a refreshing newer face instead of Lunardi.
