2026-02-22 data

KANSAS started the season trailing UK in All-Time Wins by 8 wins.

It is a possibility – low odds, but a possibility – that KANSAS could catch or even pass now unranked UK by the time the dust has settled on AY2025-26.

UK has lost three games in a row in the last week and a half and dropped out of the Top 25 rankings for both AP and USA Today/Coaches polls

Over the course of the season to date @2026-02-22 KANSAS has closed to within 5 wins of UK.
RANK PROGRAM	WON LOST	WIN% CYW CYL	CYW% WB
1 Kentucky	2439 780	.757	17 10	.630
2 Kansas	2434 916	.727	20 7	.741	5

REMAINING UK SCHEDULE @2026-02-22
Probabilities of winning [P(W)] are from ESPN Analytics
Feb 23 Mon	@South Carolina	P(W) = 76%
Feb 28 Sat	AP25 Vanderbilt	P(W) = 56% (1)
Mar 3 Tue	@Texas A&M	P(W) = 44%
Mar 7 Sat	AP7 Florida	P(W) = 41%

POST SEASON
SEC T #Ws?
NCAA T #Ws?

(1) Vandy beat UK earlier this season in Nashville, so even greater incentive for UK.

If our guys have their game together these next 2 weeks they could enter the postseason having closed to within 4 or even 3 Wins of UK.

And with a good run in the postseason tournaments, coupled with a bad run for UK, KANSAS could catch them and possibly even pass them (see 2022). 8)

Yes, of course it could go the other way.
We’re looking at best case scenario for KANSAS, so we are being "corny as Kansas in August" and "cock-eyed optimists."
