I haven’t listened to HCBS’s post game comments yet but here are my initial thoughts- for what they’re worth.
I propose that, outside of the whole team having the flu, this loss demonstrates that the DP “situation” has finally gotten the best of this team- coaches included.
As this saga has evolved the team has now proven two things:
First- that they could win an eminently losable game without DP (Arizona) and,
Two- that they could lose a slam dunk winnable one with him!
Fran Fraschilla covering the Houston/Arizona game just commented on Brayden Burries who’s having an off game (4 Pts, 3 rebds, 2 assists) while he was at the line. To paraphrase- ‘he’s having an off day as he is dealing with the flu. Some players wouldn’t play under these circumstances.’
BTW: Is there any action on the betting apps (or prediction markets) with regards to DP game minutes or points?
Time for another team meeting to make a final decision on Peterson - In or Out? If he’s not totally IN let’s go it without him, I actually think the chemistry is better that way!
