After prevailing on the road in Tucson on Saturday the Red Raiders could not get it done in Tempe Tuesday night.

Baylor lost @KSt 90-74

KU is briefly all alone in 4th pending results of Wednesday's (tonight's) bal-chatri game in Stillwater.
Other Big 12 games on Wednesday
BYU @Arizona
Utah @WVU
Ya think UA is out to skin a bigger cat?
I do.
And without Richie Saunders it's just going to be that much harder for BYU.

Feb 18 Wed @OKS
Feb 21 Sat CIN
Feb 23 Mon UH
Feb 28 Sat @UA
Mar 3 Tue @ASU
Mar 7 Sat KSU
We'll be be favored in the double bookend games around Houston and Arizona.
While Houston and Arizona will be the super tough tests, ASU beating Texas Tech tonight shows that KU must lock in for those four other games as clearly NO game is an automatic W.

Absolutely a rough row to hoe, hence my titling the last 3 weeks of the season the gauntlet for those 5 teams. Several of the schedules were backloaded this season, KU arguably not the toughest, not when compared to UA.
On paper Tech has the easiest 6 game path of the 5, yet they lose in Tempe.
The road goes ever on and on, and in the Big 12 it's rough.
One game at a time, lads, one game at a time - starting with this very winnable one tonight for KANSAS and Cowboy Bill!

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”

2 unexpected surprises last night, for sure. And given our schedule, both are relevant for our lads.
First, the ASU upset TT at home. Didn’t see that one coming! And with it, what we probably considered one of our easiest final-stretch games, at ASU (certainly relative to Houston at home and Zona away), now looks like it could be a game. Especially with KU being every team’s Super Bowl.
Secondly, I didn’t foresee the Tang-less Purps going out and thumping Baylor by 16 at home. (And doing so with 2 guys scoring 34 and 33, respectively) Could that make our final game more challenging, given how much they hate us (and that a team with nothing to lose can play freely, with house money)? It could, though I still think that one may be our easiest of the remaining six.
Interesting times.
PS: I heard that Toppin got hurt late in the ASU game; some late-night posters on other sites worried that it could be bad. Sure hope it’s not season-ending, as we’ve already seen one top B12 team (BYU) lose one of their best 2 players - and Toppin is far and away Tech’s best. Would be a big blow for the strong league in the postseason.
