This thread to be updated at the end of each B12 Conference game day thru the last regular season games on Saturday, March 7.
The Big 12 Tournament begins on Tuesday, March 10.
TOP 5 BIG 12 STANDINGS through
Monday 2026-03-02These 5 are the contenders for a Top 4 (Double Bye) B12T seed as of 2026-03-02.
KANSAS is 3.5 games behind the leader in fourth place.
What can I say? This week I'm a fan of KANSAS rooting for TCU in Lubbock Tuesday night and/or BYU in Provo on Saturday (BYU's Senior Game) to beat Texas Tech!
MAR 2 MON
UA beat ISU in Tucson, winning the Big 12 regular season title.
KU wins @ASU Tuesday night and v KSU in the Senior Game on Saturday afternoon and KU earns a Top 4 B12T seed!
Remember, tiebreakers are solely for seeding in the Big 12 T. If the remaining 4 top 5 teams play to chalk in their final Big 12 games, KU will get the 3 seed in the B12T and get the double byes for both Tuesday and Wednesday Big 12 Tournament competition.
BUT - Tech winning v TCU and @BYU (BYU is favored, but currently on a 2 game L streak, but it will be their Senior Game, so really a toss up?) gets Tech the 2 seed and UH winning out (chalk) gets UH the 3 seed, leaving ISU and KU fighting for the 4 seed.
.

I hate this forum. I spent a lot of time curating a post but the log-in timer expired. It doesn't warn you until AFTER you hit submit and the post is gone. "Sometimes" I can go "back" in the browser to recover what I had typed, but in this case that didn't work. Had to recreate the post from scratch. Timed out again...#crap.
Not doing it again. Suffice it to say the short version is if TTech loses to BYU (BYU is marginally favored) then KU gets the 3 seed if they beat the Kitties on Saturday. ISU results don't matter due to the tiebreaker rules (except if they lose Sat to ASU they potentially fall into a tie with TCU [who host Cincinnati] who just beat ISU so...ouch. The #6 team in the country would get the #6 seed in the conference tourney.

Boat drinks.
Boys in the band ordered boat drinks.
The Jayhawks in Tempe, did they stink.
Everything seemed to be wrong.
This morning
I shot six holes in my freezer.
I think I got cabin fever.
Somebody sound the alarm.
Odds were not bad but the Jayhawks sure were.
This KANSAS team’s play was best described “grrr”.

TOP 5 BIG 12 STANDINGS through
Tuesday 2026-03-03These 5 are the contenders for a Top 4 (Double Bye) B12T seed as of 2026-03-02.
KANSAS is 4.0 games behind the leader tied for fourth place with ISU, over which it has the B12T seeding tiebreaker.
MAR 3 TUE
TCU wins at Tech, poor SENIOR NIGHT result for the Red Raiders
KU loses at ASU, spurning the gift of the earlier game (SENIOR NIGHT for ASU)
OKS wins at UCF in OT, spoiling the Knights SENIOR NIGHT
KSU wins on its SENIOR NIGHT v WVU
CU handles UU in Salt Lake City, another SENIOR NIGHT loss and
UC wins its SENIOR NIGHT game v BYU
SENIOR NIGHT teams went 3-3 last night, 4-3 this round so far factoring in UA’s win on Monday
HOUSTON hosts Baylor tonight (Wednesday) and I think we all agree that should be a Houston Senior Night Win.
Last night I had very few words… actually none. Really. That game left me rather speechless. Just ask konza63.
Talk about wasting a gift in TCU beating Tech in Lubbock. I could have used a Margarita, but instead I “Pinch”ed myself immediately after the game, turned on an old episode of “Death in Paradise” and shut out the evening’s travails in the welcoming arms of Guadaloupe, Fete Mori and eventually Morpheus.
This morning, after a busy morning of kitchen cleanup (to include sweeping and mopping the floor), I returned to the computer, ran the seeding predictor to see just how bad it could be and got a pleasant surprise to see it was still mathematically possible KANSAS could earn as high as a 2 seed (possible only if KU wins, UH loses at home to BU and at OKS and BYU beats Tech), but more probably still in the running for the 3 seed in the B12T ASSUMING
KU wins its SENIOR GAME against KState AND
BYU wins its SENIOR GAME hosting Tech.
Needless to say, let’s
ROCK CHALK! JAYHAWK! GO KU! in The PHOG on SENIOR DAY
and
Go BYU COUGARS!
and
Go! whoever is playing Houston!
Because in the unlikely case that UH managed to lose its last two games it could drop all the way to the 5 seed if KU and ISU both win.

Because of it I write almost all my posts in my word processor, then copy and paste the text into the forum for formatting, self proofreading (with all its potential faults) and finally submitting.

WVU won it's Senior Game against UCF, a "CHALK" win.
No impact on the preceding post's scenarios as all 4 included WVU winning.
The remaining 14 teams play their season finales tomorrow, with
KANSAS (KSt) P(Home win)
ISU (ASU) P(Home win)
TCU (UC) P(Home Win)
BYU (TT) P(Home Win), but I think very iffy with recent BYU trend
CU (UA) P(ROAD WIN)
BU (UU) P(Home Win) and
OKS (UH) P(ROAD WIN)
all hosting visitors for their respective SENIOR GAMES.
Tomorrow night's final update will have the final standings, seeds and bracket for the B12T beginning Tuesday next week.
As noted in the preceding post, a KU win ensures KU a Top 4 seed and a Double Bye in the B12T.
• If KU wins and BYU wins it's SENIOR GAME against Tech, KU gets the 3 seed (UA, UH, KU, Tech, ISU)
• If KU wins and BYU loses against Tech, KU gets the 4 seed (UA, UH, Tech, KU, ISU)
• If KU loses and ISU wins its SENIOR GAME against ASU, KU becomes the 5 seed (UA, UH, Tech, ISU, KU).
• If KU loses and ISU loses, KU is the 4 seed (UA, UH, Tech, KU, ISU)
SO I repeat myself, at the risk of being rude...
