"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
He be gone, but the spectacle is juuuust beginning.
Get your ‘corn & Coke and enjoy the fiasco!
Personally, methinks KState is legally going to need a LOT more than his rants to get out of paying the $18.7M they owe if he is fired barring “Just Cause”. I’m not a contracts lawyer, but what little I remember from Business Law their case seems a tad weak.
Mayhap the KState legal brain trust believes they have enough. Not knowing all the details, cannot say. Or maybe they are actually totally competent and are looking when (not if) Tang sues for his money to get him to settle for half or better.

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
I agree that the firing will be challenged in court (lots of money at stake) but I'm going to bet that it won't be all that dramatic. He certainly has a case, but KSU can also let things drag out for years and years. Apparently they offered him a package if he'd leave, but he wanted the buyout.
At some point in the not-so-distant future, the lawyers will huddle up and cut a deal. The only question I have is whether they can keep the terms of the deal under wraps. I'm sure they'd like to, but we're talking about state funds, so unless a booster steps in to help fund it privately, we'll hear details.
And after the way he dissed his team, they won't be loyal. All it will take is for some of the players to come up with a story that can be twisted into something resembling "cause" by the lawyers, and KSU will create leverage.
They'll all want to avoid the soap opera, and even if he "only" walks with 1/2 of the buyout, he'll be more than set.

From what I've read elsewhere, KSU is one of a handful of P4 schools that pays its coaches 100% without dipping into state funding.NotOstertag wrote: At some point in the not-so-distant future, the lawyers will huddle up and cut a deal.
