"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
EDIT: TV: ESPN2, after Tennessee @Syracuuse 6:00 PM CT
Monday December 1, 2025 14:45 CT
It's snowing here in Phogtown, as we anticipate
A visit from a top ranked team so many of us hate.
The weather will suit the Huskies, who are favored in this fight,
But they haven't beat ol' KU yet, and you all know the site on this...
... Buh duh DUH duh DUH DUH duh duh duh duh DUH DUH DUH ... BALL NIGHT!
Yes, the Huskies, who bring their swagger and lightning rod coach to THE Allen Fieldhouse!
The Huskies, who despite being Johnny-come-latelys on the national scene have become one of the Top 25 All Time Winningest Programs in Men's Division 1 history on their way to SIX (count 'em, 6!) NCAA Tournament titles in 27 years (1999, 2004, 2011, 2014, 2023, 2024).
The Huskies, who have yet to defeat their kryptonite the Jayhawks of the University of Kansas in four previous attempts!
The REALLY BIG ANSWER we all want to know?
Jayhawks fans all hoping "YES!"
Huskies hoping "NO"?
On Tuesday morning we will learn if Peterson's a "GO!"
Today HC Bill Self said of Peterson “He has practiced and he’s gone up and down. The hesitancy I have is that before we’ll announce anything is he has to test out medically from a strength and flexibility standpoint. And we’ll know that in the morning. So still no answer, but we’ll be able to say something definitively in the morning... He’s done well the last few days.”
Peterson has not played since Friday, Nov. 7.
"NOW" would be a good time, Scotty, er, Darryn!
The AP #5 Huskies are in the house of the #21 JAYHAWKS – The PHOG!!!
HCBS reports that Jayden will be available tomorrow. “He's practiced, so he practiced today. So I would say available. Yes… When the adrenaline starts flowing and things like that, I would say that those little nicks aren't felt near as much when the adrenaline is flowing like it will be tomorrow.”
The 6-1 Huskies are one of just five teams with multiple wins against Top-15 opponents this season (they beat then #7 BYU (now #9) and last Friday #13 Illinois (now #14)) with their sole loss coming in their own house against then #4 Arizona (now #2).
www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/gam...1812791/uconn-kansas
ESPN Analytics favor KANSAS to win a close one (spread 1.5 points), coming out on top 52.7% of the time. Of course, if DnP drops the “n” to become Jag – I think that’s worth at least 5 more points and at least +10% for the home team, don’t you?
I like our chances, Jayhawks fans!
Here is Bill Self’s press conference from this morning.

The KUAthletics.com pregame article with the links to the Game Notes is not up yet (as the snow continues to fall in Phogtown – or is it Selfville now? It was nicknamed Larryville under Brown, but that was more obvious, and still used by some today. Was it under Roy that LFK came into existence? Inquiring minds want to know!). ANYWAY – once I see the article is available I’ll add it to another post in this thread.

KUAthletics.com has the game article online now.
KU hosts UConn Tuesday in The PHOG!!!
And for the first time I can recall they ae calling the pregame Game Notes "Kansas Notes".
I reckon it's to differentiate the pregame Notes to the postgame "Game Notes".
I like it!

A side note --
If you haven't looked at the ESPN and ESPN2 schedules for tomorrow night, it is a huge night for them and NCAA Men's college hoops.
All times CT
6:00 PM Tennessee @ Syracuse ESPN2
6:30 PM Florida @ Duke ESPN
8:00 {M UConn @ KANSAS ESPN2
8:30 PM North Carolina @ Kentucky ESPN
BTW, in case you were wondering how tightly wrapped ESPN is with the ACC, later in the evening tomorrow night on ESPNU fans can watch the same night replay of
Florida @ Duke (11:00 PM),
UNC @UK (1:00 AM Wed) and
Tennessee @Syracuse (3:00 AM Wed)
Yep.
No sign of a same night replay for nonACC UConn @ nonACC KANSAS.
The way of the ESPN world.

Here's an ESPN article about the possibility of Peterson playing tonight.
Notable comments from HCBS, saying Peterson's absence could be a blessing -
"All of our guys have done great, so I'm not going to in any way, shape or form take away from how hard they are trying, and what they've tried to do. We've had guys step up.... We've forced other guys to be aggressive, and now he's coming back, we may be more apt to play off him and play with him from an aggressive standpoint, as opposed to passing and watching him go make plays. It could be a silver lining."
Sure hope you are right, Coach!

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
I know that we all want to see Peterson tonight and are eagerly anticipating an announcement about him. Nevertheless, if I were in HCBS's Adidas, I'd keep a lid on it until gametime. Why tip off the Huskies any earlier than necessary? I'm sure Bobby Hurley is game planning for both options, so why make it any easier for him?
I do think that if Peterson DOES play, they'd better reenforce the roof at the old barn before they introduce the starters. If/when they call his name, the noise may cause structural damage if they're not careful.
