How long will Self coach?

Recently retired/longtime KU assistant coach Norm Roberts was on a podcast & got asked to predict how much longer he thinks Coach Self will keep going given his health scares & the changing dynamic in the new era of college basketball. His response:
“I would probably guess maybe 3-4 more years. I don’t know if he’ll do it much longer than that. But I do know this: because of the scares that he’s had, he’s in so much better shape now. He’s lost 35 pounds. He looks great. He’s exercising every day. He’s eating right…all those things. He’s doing really well. Great energy right now.”

Bill loves to coach. It is not work for someone who loves what they do. He is like Izzo or Bobby Knight. He will go as long as his body and mind let him do it. He will coach as long as his health allows. I would say at least until he is 70 if healthy.
