Hawks A for effort, but is this going to be another maddening season?

First- Doesn’t matter that Coach K isn’t there, still really dislike Puke and all the fawning.
Hawks get an A for effort, White and Bidunga, but nothing from the guards. What happened to all the other talent beyond DP this team was supposed to have.
There is no clarity on DP’s health which is unfortunate and the rest of these guys are just not elite.
Is this gong to be another long season??

Another long season?
Possible.
IMO it all comes down to DnP.
If he gets healthy KU will be one of the best 5 teams in the country,
If he doesn't, it's going to be a long season.
On the plus side, the team did well overall tonight -- at least much better than I thought they would w/o DnP.
If Flory doesn't sit the last half of H1 it's a different game. It swung hard to Duke when he had to sit.
He is great, but simply MUST do better about fouling.
Tre is showing what he can do, and it's a great picture.
Council had a horrible H1 shooting (1-8 ), but did much better H2.
Cannot repeat that pattern and expect KU to win when he is getting so much PT.
Dawson had a strong game, showed he can play D and add some points.
Kohl is a promising freshman, but a freshman. If he finds his stroke... if...
Tiller is also a freshman, but he's going to be great come March.
And freshman Paul Mbiya is going to be good, but the game is currently too fast for him.
G Ngala got no time tonight, but he is perhaps our best scorer who is not a healthy DP.
G needs more PT.
Give Ngala Elmarko's and Jamari's PT. They aren't doing anything with it.

Thank you HE, appreciate your thoughts.
Loved how hard the guys played and gave it everything they had last night. Hopefully DnP gets healthy, as it would a shame not to see this team reach its full potential.
Trust the process, and HCBS and his staff to coach them up. Love seeing JV on the bench.

They certainly exceeded my expectations. Had Bidunga and Tiller not been in foul trouble, we may have seen a different outcome. White also had a great game, and Rosario had some moments as well.
I'm actually optimistic about these guys. If Peterson actually gets healthy and performs as advertised, we're going to be really good. That's obvious.
If he doesn't, last night actually gave me some hope that while we might not be a NC contender, we may at least be in the hunt for a conference championship or Big 12 tourney championship.
Suffice it to say I was actually encouraged by what the guys showed last night knowing that they'll all only improve as time goes on. Throw in the "x factor" of when some guys magically "get it" halfway into the season (talking to you Elmarko) and I think we'll be ok.
