So I had high hopes when KU won the exhibition game at #11 Louisville. I based it off of that game alone simply because it's been too hard the last few seasons to really gauge what they would do. I figured winning on the road at the #11 team, exhibition or not, was a great sign. On paper they seem to have a very tall team. They have some good shooters, they have a game changer in Darryn Peterson.
So the season opens and bam, slam dunk...looked great. Then UNC happened. So now I'm not sure. I think there are a lot of great pieces and I hope it's a gel thing and they all come together. Honestly, the last few seasons have bummed me out on college sports in general. Too much change, no one stays, it's just weird now.
So my thoughts are this. KU will finish middle of the pack again. I say the best they do is #3 or #4. I think at best they get a 3 seed and then it's anyone's guess as to what can happen in the tourney. Maybe Sweet 16? Am I being too much of a downer?
Just so we are clear, I pick KU on my bracket every year. No matter what LOL
Here's to a great season! Let's go Hawks. I just want to enjoy a good solid team that plays excellent defense and doesn't get blown out. Seems like such a crazy thing to be asking for as a KU fan after the last 20+ years...anyway, Rock Chalk for LIFE!!!
