predictions for Green Bay game

Ho hum, season opener against a cupcake, and nothing to go on from this season.
Hasn't stopped Pomeroy and a few others from making predictions, which call for
a blowout win by Kansas, the average margin predicted to be 31 points.

Massey is usually on board right out of the gate, but his web site isn't
responding at the moment.  It's unclear to me exactly who Dunkel is ranking,
because there are only 365 teams in Division I.  ESPN has moved their game
predictions to an "ESPN Bet" page.

What's the over/under on the odds that the Jayhawk faithful will start up a
"Shorts on backwards" chant?

The big story line is probably whether Darryn Peterson will play, and for how
long.  Greenfield is calling him "questionable", whereas Donchess has him
listed as "probable".  Self said he's been practicing at full speed, but
perhaps isn't 100 percent.  Was it cramping or a bug that kept him out of the
Fort Hays exhibition?  Or was it really a case of not wanting to risk
injury against an opponent that wouldn't allow him to strut his best stuff
in front of a bevy of NBA scouts?  I shudder to think that Self might find
himself deferring to the whims of a prima donna.

Two games against bottom-tier opponents, today's being one of them, three
games against middle-tier opponents, and 26 games against top-tier opponents,
including the entire 18-game Big 12 slate (down from 20 conference games
last season).  Enjoy the ride.
