For that matter, so should
Tre White

Jaden Nickens (dual FB & MBB)
but I’ve seen nothing about them yet.
From the source article-
Allen on Sherron Collins, a major impact on his overall game:
"He pushed me in areas of leadership. When my teammates were down, just really being able to pick them up, and just being able to get everybody involved, being that coach out there on the floor, just having the next play mentality. And then he would be in the gym with me, sometimes early morning, just working on different things to improve my game, and just walking me through the steps of how it was for him, and letting me use his experiences to be able to put that in my game."
Allen considers himself an "old school" guard: “I'm very versatile. I can plug and play, wherever the coach needs me to go. I can do whatever he needs me to do. Really big on rebounding from the guard position. I'm always crashing the boards, getting put-backs. I guard like crazy, the best player on the other side, my goal in my head is to stop the best player on the other side, no matter who it is. And then scoring, I like getting downhill, that's just one of my strengths. And then I just get everybody involved and make the right play, no matter what that is."
His first memories of KU were as an 8 year old watching the Frank Mason and Devonte Graham teams of the mid-to-late 2010s.
Allen didn't hear much from KU as an upperclassman and when an opportunity to attend San Diego came up, he took it. Then earlier this spring Allen decommitted from San Diego and the door to join the KU program was opened.
Allen: “They came on and told me that they're really interested in me and all of that," Allen said. "So that really just hit me right after that, right after season ended and all that. And then finally getting that call from them and talking about commitment and all those things, it was just really, a really good moment for me, just knowing that I could go to one of my dream schools."
During his senior year, Allen set Oak Park's all-time scoring record, passing Ochai Agbaji. Allen talked to Agbaji about KU and what to expect. Agbaji advised him (1) to work his tail off and (2) that the coaches notice when a player is working hard to get better.
