Was The Big 12 Overated?

Watching the ISU game as well as WVU I have to ask, was the Big 12 over rated? Either its match ups or the conference wasn't as good as we thought.

Or . . . were they "full of themselves" from the best conferences and forgot to play like they do against ol' KU?

Exactly. 2 of 21 from 3 is not going to win many games. From what I saw several of them were open 3s that they just could not make. They actually had 19 more shot attempts than Pitt but could not make very many. As the saying goes. It just wasn't their night.

The Big 12 was and is unequivocally and without doubt NOT overrated. We all know the NCAA tourney is a crapshoot. Purdue is a legit top 5 or 6 team. They just ran into a buzzsaw. Iowa State struggled all year with consistently playing good offense and it them in this one game. I don’t know what happened to West Virginia but I do know they were the least consistent team in the Big 12 and that bit them in this one game.

Completely agree Corpus. WVA was / is very inconsistent and proved it. Question. Is Huggy a mediocre or poor game coach?

Watching ISU was extremely painful, they couldn’t do anything. All I could think was these guys crushed us in Ames.

Great discussion here. I think my concern was that KU got smashed but some of these teams that either lost or struggled to win. Anyway, good points many of you make. I do feel the conference was tough. This time of year teams just go to another level and it's "win at all costs" so you have to bring your best every game. I do not know what the heck happened to ISU, man they couldn't do a thing. And I wasn't impressed with Pitt either. It was like ISU did it to themselves.
