But how will the media bankrollers want to redo the deals now?
With UCLA and USC gone, the estimates are the Pac12 schools, already well behind the #3 Big 12 in media earnings, will only get to see the poor position they are in, and ESPN and FoxSports will be looking to bargain basement shop west coast teams.
In other words, the new #s may just drive the remaining schools that can leave to leave.
With the Pac 12 GOR expiring in 2024, if today's meetings between the Big 12 and the 4 Corner schools proves productive, that's probably the end of the Pac12 no matter what Oregon and/or Washington do. And word today is that the meetings include discussion of UDub and that OU to be the first to get to 18 members.
I'm thinking that the following graphic stolen from a Slant poster is probably a fairly accurate assessment of the current Pac 12-2 mind set...
Hot! Hot! Hot!
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
