If someone would kindly watch and give a report, I would be interested to read even general comments regarding the tenor of conversation and even fan response.

Thanks in advance!

FWIW: watching SportsCenter leading into College Game Day and Hannah Storm talks with Jay Bilas (speaking from AFH).

First thing she mentions is the “instantly infamous brawl at Kansas State this past Tuesday.”

Strike one on her.

Next she mentions the bad pub related to the NCAA notice of allegations, and how there may be further punishments after the season is over.

Strike two.

Next she mentions “the program has continued to garner negative headlines”, addressing (with video from Late Night) Snoop Dog’s performance and AD Jeff Long’s apology.

Strike three

She returns to the brawl and only talks Silvio, them shows video of Self saying “my kid makes an emotional decision, a bad, bad mistake, he’s still my kid, not gonna quit loving him. He’s ours, and I’m glad he is” and what other people think has nothing to do with my decisions. “The fact that somebody, after watching it one time and everything, can make a decision “this is exactly how it’s gonna be”, that doesn’t impact what I do at all.”

Asks Jay how does Kansas basketball get back on track?

Jay: “I'm not sure Kansas basketball is off track... address what happened, which I think Kansas has done, the Big 12 has done, Kansas State has done.., move forward... Even though there are perception issues which you documented, I think very well, I don’t link the fight with the NCAA issue. One didn’t cause the other, and I don’t think they are linked together.”

Home run.

And that was the only talking head acknowledgement that Kansas State was part of the problem.

Bilas then did a video selfie with the early morning AFH crowd.

Good for HCBS disagreeing w Seth. I worked at Long Beach State when Seth was coach. Seth needs to stow his halo and angel wings....he ain’t pure.

Have lost all goodwill for Seth, IMO he’s moving toward Vitale Light... open mouth, insert foot, don’t know when to shut up.

Seth keeps talking about Dave hitting people. Like Self, I’ve looked at every view I could and did not see it.

IMO if KU and/or the Big 12 folks saw him punch someone, he would be at 8 as well. That he only got 2 tells me he didn’t.

Love Self standing up for the young men in his charge.

Seth does get credit for saying KState started it, and that Love, coming off the bench as he did and escalating it, should have received the same punishment as Silvio.

Jay was his usual, level headed self. Tons of respect in our household for Dukie Bilas.

LaPhonso Ellis was basically a non-entity.

Rece Davis had a good interview with Bill. Didn’t pull punches, but was fair.

And Self was great in answering Rece’s questions.

Thanks HE for your report and accompanying video! Superb, as I would have expected.

Loved HCBS's reference to a talk with his dad.

Loved the advice from Self's Dad. It was also one my mother gave me at various times when I screwed up or was angry at someone or over something. I applied the same philosophy after writing a paper or a manuscript. Like Bertrand Russell, I wrote it and put in on hold for 2-3 weeks. When reread, the mistakes or lack of clarity were more obvious. Time does heal (most times).
