Good move.

Hey, Bruce, anything on James Love?

Which means that KU will go along with any reasonable suspension of Silvio while lobbying to limit any ancillary suspensions. I expect a sincere and public apology from Silvio to the Jayhawk nation and the Big 12. Any apology to K-State would be unwarranted and coerced.

ABSOLUTELY no apologies to anyone KSU. AD Long was wrong to do that. The Big12, the fans, yes, but NOT to KSU.

The fight started because of KSU actions.

Weber said that he told his guys at the last timeout “Don't press. Don't foul. Back off.”

Gordon ignored Weber.

Silvio’s blocking the shot after the steal — all good.

Silvio taunting Gordon afterward — unsportsmanlike, but covered by the rules.

KSU players rushed to Gordon’s “aid”, but at that point Gordon wasn’t in danger of anything more than the ego shattering he experienced. The available video shows several KSU players walled up and shoved Silvio to the floor in the fan seating area (unclear what was behind Silvio that led to his fall), after which he came up and very understandably but wrongfully lost it and threw a punch.

Then injured James Love III, all 6-11/240 of him, launched himself at Silvio, driving even further into the seating while throwing several punches (that missed) before KU assistant and former player Jeremy Case tackled Love and tried to subdue him, apparently (because I just can’t tell) with “help?” from Garrett and Big Dave.

The stool — bad, bad, bad, no excuse. Thank you Coach Howard for getting Silvio’s attention.

What were Dave Mc and Garrett doing in the back near Love and Case? I can’t really tell despite all the different angles I’ve looked at.

SO the ONLY things that are clear are...

KSU player ignored his Coach’s instruction.

Everything that transpired after the steal and up to and including Silvio’s “T for Taunting” are all basketball, and that *would* have been the end of it except for the KSU players actions attacking Silvio.

Love escalated the fight.

Silvio picked up that stool.

Nobody blameless, but NO to any apologies to KSU.

But I repeat myself...
