I think the question on whether to redshirt Jalen was answered tonight.

Look for Jalen Wilson to start working his way into the lineup as soon as he is capable. He is a complete unknown (at least to the fans) so it is difficult or impossible to know if this is something we should be excited about. I sure hope he turns out to be Christian Braun 2.0. Methinks we may need him.

Yeah, got to hedge your bets if you are Self. No telling how things are going to play out.

I think he keeps the redshirt on as long as possible. No matter what, even if he was at 100% right now, he'd still need 2-3 weeks before he'd be effective. That puts us into February. And it's not like DeSousa has been contributing at a high level anyway. If Self relies a little more on playing small I think Silvio's minutes could be absorbed by McCormack and a combination of Garrett/Agbaji and even Enaruna.

If anything, Enaruna and Jalen are similar sized and Enaruna has racked up more reps both in games and likely in practice that he's probably further along. The $10,000 question would be if Self thinks Jalen could not only catch up, but also surpass Enaruna in what's left of the season.

The other big question is how long it will take Jalen to "trust" his repaired wheel. Having done a similar number on my own ankle as a youngster, there's some time even AFTER the doc says you're good to go before you stop protecting your formerly damaged part. Until you really trust it, you're not 100% and the only way to trust it is to rack up a whole lot of "testing" to confirm things.
